Insanelight

Building an Ambilight clone has been possible for several years, so Insanelight has decided to offer such a set.

The set which you can buy at Insanelight is already completely pre-configured, wired and tested. It is based on a Raspberry PI 3, APA102 LED strips and Hyperion software.

You connect an HDMI source to the HDMI splitter. One output is looped through to the TV, the other goes to the HDMI-CVBS converter. From there the CVBS signal goes to the USB grabber, which is connected via USB in the raspberry. The Raspberry then runs the Hyperion software, which evaluates the image signals and transmits the appropriate colours to the LEDs via GPIO.

By arrangement, payment can also be made with Bitcoin or Etherium. For this purpose, a mail must be sent to shop@insaneware.de. An automatic processing is not yet possible.
